About David

David Sherman has spent more than fifteen years working across technology, operations and supply chain, and that combination shapes how he approaches commerce infrastructure at Trapyfy.

His earlier career spans supply chain management consulting, project management and operational enablement roles, including time at Accenture. That work dealt with the practical mechanics of moving goods and information through an organisation: where a process breaks under volume, which handoffs create delay, and what an operating model needs in order to hold together as a business grows.

At Trapyfy he worked in product management before becoming Chief Operating Officer, so the operational view and the product view developed alongside each other rather than separately. Experience in fintech and payment solutions adds a further dimension, because payment workflows carry their own constraints around verification, reconciliation and regulatory compliance.

He holds an MSc in Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and studied air transportation, logistics and international business at the University of North Florida.

That background is the reason his perspective on Trapyfy content concentrates on operations, payments, fulfilment and inventory rather than on marketing or growth tactics.

Areas of Focus

The subjects David works on directly, and the ones his contributions to Trapyfy content are grounded in.

  • Commerce Operations — the day-to-day systems behind selling: catalogue, orders, stock and customer communication kept in step with each other.
  • Payment Workflows — how payments are captured, verified and reconciled, and what has to happen before an order is released.
  • Order Automation — reducing the manual steps that sit around every sale so processes hold up as order volume grows.
  • Fulfilment & Inventory — routing orders to the right stock and keeping availability accurate across locations and channels.
  • Operating Models — how responsibilities, processes and systems are arranged so a business can grow without adding friction.
  • Technology & Product Operations — the connection between what a platform is capable of and how a team actually runs it day to day.
  • FinTech — payment solutions, and the operational and compliance constraints that come with handling money.
  • Scalable Commerce Infrastructure — commerce systems that keep working as order volume, catalogue size and operational complexity increase.

David at Trapyfy

At Trapyfy, David works on the operational systems behind commerce: how product, payment, order and fulfilment workflows fit together as a merchant grows.

Much of that concerns the points where one system hands off to another. A catalogue change has to reach the storefront. A confirmed payment has to release an order. A dispatched order has to reduce stock and tell the customer. Each handoff is simple on its own, and becomes a source of error once it repeats hundreds of times a week, which is where order automation and product and inventory control do most of their work.

He contributes operational and product perspective to Trapyfy educational content, particularly where commerce infrastructure, payments, merchant operations and fulfilment routing intersect.
